Sanders County concert season opens with Sephardic songs

PLAINS – Sanders County Arts Council's performing arts season 2016-2017, "Tapestry," opens on Monday, Oct. 3.

"Tales from the Forgotten Kingdom" features the Guy Mendilow Ensemble, who will "lead a musical trek to kingdoms long forgotten and bustling towns now vanished" with stories of "vagabond queens, pauper poets and lovers lost to sea" set to arrangements of old Sephardic songs.

The show is at the Rex Theatre in Thompson Falls at 7:30 p.m. For more information visit sanderscountyarts.org and guymendilow.com.

A $70 season ticket, all six performances and a flex ticket to bring a guest to one of the performances. Regular tickets are $13 in advance; $15 at the door or $5 for students.

Tickets are sold online or at Thompson Falls locations (First Security Bank, D&D Liquor, and Big Eddy's) or Plains (First Security Bank and Garden Gift and Floral.)

Jason Farnham, a piano entertainer who combines music and comedy. April 21, 7 p.m., the Paradise Center, Paradise.
